We do our best to guide the subject into the posture that will make them look best, but for some people it is very difficult to get the model look. Getting positioning right can be very difficult, especially for beginners. A great photo is not just about looking good, its about having a great composition. The composition of a photo includes everything from the light, to the setting, to your positioning, and how the shadows fall on the side of you that isn't facing the light.
